Welche (sozial-)politischen Konflikte prägen das Leben von obdachlosen, erwerbslosen und von Rassismus betroffenen Menschen gerade besonders? Das diskutieren Menschen, die beim Los Angeles Community Action Network (LACAN), die Erwerbsloseninitiative BASTA! aus Berlin, das selbstverwaltete migrantische Zentrum Project Shelter aus Frankfurt und die Arbeitslosenselbsthilfe Oldenburg (ALSO) aktiv sind. Sie berichten von ihrem Aktivismus, ihren Organisationsformen und ihrer alltäglichen Arbeit in Auseinandersetzung mit der Widersprüchlichkeit des „aktivierenden Sozialstaats“ und den jüngsten rassistischen und armenfeindlichen Konjunkturen von Bürgergeldreform und Abschiebeoffensive in Deutschland bis hin zur massiven Kriminalisierung von Obdachlosigkeit und ICE-Razzien in den USA. Gemeinsam wollen wir fragen: „What the fuck is going on?“ und was können wir aus dem gemeinsamen Erfahrungsaustausch lernen?

What (socio-)political conflicts are currently having a particular impact on the lives of homeless, unemployed, and racially discriminated people? This is discussed by people who are active in the Los Angeles Community Action Network (LACAN), the unemployment initiative BASTA! in Berlin, the self-managed migrant center Project

Shelter in Frankfurt, and the unemployment self-help group Oldenburg (ALSO). They report on their activism, their forms of organization, and their daily work in dealing with the contradictions of the “activating welfare state” and the latest racist and anti-poor trends, from citizen’s income reform and deportation offensives in Germany to the massive criminalization of homelessness and ICE raids in the US. Together, we want to ask: “What the fuck is going on?” and what can we learn from sharing our experiences?
